circuit breaker

Ok—so what the heck is a circuit breaker? Electricity works like water flowing through a hose. As long as all of the elements are in working condition, we have programmed the water to flow effortlessly, similar to electricity through a wire. Imagine a circuit breaker as like…like this special valve on that hose. The valve can turn off to prevent damage if something goes wrong — such as too much water pressure or it being blocked. A tripped circuit breaker, like a human reaction to pain or temperature alerts us that something is wrong internally and stops the flow of electricity in our case before we make too much damage if anything would go properly wrong.

Fault circuit breakers are going to serve a great deal and help from happening any electrical fire or worse electric shock accidents. In the same way, if you try to force too much electricity through a wire it can overheat. Wires can light on fire when they become too hot, which is a substantial threat. A circuit breakers purpose is when too much electricity starts to flow in that wire it turns off the power. Doing that quickly has also helped keep us safe, and our home from turning into the blond side of mars.

How Circuit Breakers Help Prevent Electrical Fires and Accidents

But that’s not all! They also keep us from being harmed when we brush up against something that carries electricity and they function as protectors. Remember that thing we would sometimes do, touch a metal part of an appliance. If the power is going through that part we would be shocked. This is where the circuit breaker saves us! Once a leakage is detected it will cut any power immediately. It is what keeps us safe and saves from being shocked.

All you will see is a sea of switches when looking at your circuit breaker box. Since these switches are used to turn on and off the different things that make up your house — such as light in living room, same way you give electricity to plug where we put our devices or even for kitchen appliances. If the switch is in an “on” position, it means that electricity is running through that circuit and all things are fine.
