The mould Whenever we talk about manufacturing items from plastic, one of the words we hear most frequently is mould. Have you ever wondered what these moulds do? Let's take a closer look at how thermosetting moulds work.
Thermosetting moulds, types of moulds are special shapes in which plastic articles are made. “We take these molds and we heat the plastic until it’s gooey and we can shape it.” When the plastic is soft we pour the plastic into the mold and let it cool. This process is known as curing and it's what allows the plastic to mould itself to the shape of the mould.
Thermosetting moulds however are extremely strong and can withstand high heat. The TQ Thermosetting mould makes them ideal for industry that requires heat resistant product. Plus, things that are cast in these moulds often have the advantage of being smooth, and people like that.
There are various types of thermosetting materials processed in the moulder. Some common examples are epoxy, polyester and phenolic resins. Each one comes with features that make it particularly well-suited for different products.

Epoxy resins are strong and do not degrade when they come into contact with chemicals, so they are used in locations such as the aerospace industry. Polyester resins are also ‘softer’ meaning they can flex and bend.

Another important one is pressure. Applying the perfect amount of pressure causes the plastic to be distributed evenly in your TQ SMC cooler mould. Good ventilation is also crucial so that any gas or fumes can escape safely.

Simply take the mould and tap it softly against a hard surface to release any air trapped in the mould. You could also experiment with a different temperature or pressure. When the problem persists, then perhaps you should consider remaking the mould or try to use another type of TQ Thermoplastic mould.
