Now that your model is prepared and looks nice, apply a mold release. This is so the fiberglass comes off your model smoothly in a later step. Very important — you do not want the fiberglass to adhere to your model! Prepare a mold with a good coat of release, and cover as much of the model as you can.
And now we double coat the grp. But you can use sharp scissors or a utility blade to cut the fiberglass cloth/mat into smaller more workable pieces. These little pieces are like puzzle parts that will snap together to form your mold. Mix resin with a catalyst, post cutting. This is the combination that provides strength to the fiberglass. Add this mixture to the fabric pieces.
Now you are ready to install some of the smaller fiberglass pieces on top of your model. Carefully and Stack them on top of each other This layering is extremely crucial because it furnishes your mould to be heavy and strong. And just make sure to push the pieces down on top so they attach very well to the model.
Once you have produced all your fiberglass pieces, you need to let the fiberglass set entirely. The process is known as curing. Be patient during this time! You will need to help it cure all the way before removing your new mold. If you remove it too early, then the bond may not be as strong.
Adequate Ventilation: All of these are chemicals and you should have some ventilation in the ares that you are working. This will protect you and prevent you from inhaling any dangerous gas fumes.
